Dear fellow glamper,
Thank you for visiting our blog! We are very excited to develop this blog into a resource for all things camping and create a community of and for those who love family adventures.
Just who are we, anyway? Well, we are an active duty military family of four: TJ (a military pilot and history nerd), Laura (a homemaker with an environmental sciences past and a long lasting passion for soil ecology), and two crazy, beautiful girls ages 5 and 2. Occasionally you may see our four-leggers (two 50 pound rescue dogs who think they are people). Although we are born mid-westerners, our careers have taken us all over the country/world (exotic locales such as Del Rio, TX and Pierre, SD).
Glamping was not always our mode of camping. We tent camped for years, in the heat, in the rain, through tick infestations, with pack-n-plays, and we loved it but it was getting to be something we only did once or twice a year after having kids, and we really missed the fun of camping and the feeling of escaping from the everyday. Then, last spring, it just happened. The thought of an airstream just appeared out of nowhere. Airstream, to go camping in the heat. Airstream, to go camping in the cold. Airstream, to explore the country one park at a time. Airstream, because we are all happier when we are exploring. Airstream, to provide a consistent “home” for our family since we move every two years. Airstream, to do all these things in comfort and style and to motivate us to get out and get camping. Airstream, because shiny campers just make us smile. So we did it, we bought one, and because we couldn’t wait around for the right used one, we bought a new one. Honeysuckle Manor is a 22’ 2013 Airstream Sport and it sleeps four humans and two dogs snugly but perfectly. And now we are glampers, totally and unashamedly glampers.
And we want to talk to you about glamping, camping, and family adventures. We welcome all varieties of campers and hope you can find resources here. You can expect to see posts on the following:
Camper improvements and outfitting
Tow vehicle improvements
Exploring with kids
Camping cuisine
Places we have camped and the things we have done
We hope you will find our blog useful and entertaining. We would be so excited if you found something that will help you reach your family’s adventure goals.
Please feel free to comment, contribute your experiences, or contact us.
Happy glamping,
Now if you just had awesome friends to go glamping with!! Soon, hopefully!

Can you glamp without a trailer? What if your tent is especially glamorous/easy to assemble?
